Self-Storage
FRC has actively invested in the self-storage sector since 1998. Transaction and development experience includes over 270 self-storage properties in 11 countries. Notable transactions include ownership of Bluespace Self-Storage, the largest self-storage owner/operator in Spain; a large holding in MyPlace Self-Storage in Germany, Austria and Switzerland; and a development partnership with Metro Self Storage, one of the largest operators in the US. FRC focuses on self-storage operating platforms and selective property portfolio joint ventures, domestically and abroad. FRC was the lead financial shareholder in Shurgard Europe and helped lead its growth to 150 stores.
Lodging
FRC is an experienced hotel investor, having owned and managed full service and limited service hotels throughout the United States. The firm focuses on value-add opportunities in the hospitality space. Most recently, FRC has invested in hospitality properties throughout the Southeastern U.S. FRC is currently focused on opportunistic and value-add hospitality investments in major U.S. cities.
Retail
FRC has been actively involved in the acquisition and management of numerous retail properties, ranging in size from strip retail to regional malls. The firm focuses on value-add opportunities in the retail market.
Senior Housing
FRC has been investing in the senior housing sector since 1997, partnering with high quality operators in this very specialized real estate asset class. Transaction and development experience includes over 81 senior housing properties throughout the United States. Notable transactions include two operating platforms, a number of joint venture relationships, and a value-add portfolio acquisition of 24 assisted living facilities located across the United States. FRC is currently focused on senior housing operating platforms and joint ventures, including seniors-related healthcare properties.
Cold Storage
FRC prides itself on its expertise in niche, non-traditional real estate investment sectors. FRC has owned and collaborated in the development of over 64 million cubic feet of cold storage across the United States. FRC is currently focused on cold storage operating platform investments.
Residential
FRC has invested in multi-family housing development and value-added projects in markets with strong supply and demand fundamentals. FRC team members have very deep investment and asset management experience in the sector.
Office
FRC has significant experience in office investments in the United States and its territories with a focus on development and value-add opportunities. FRC has invested in office properties in a number of major U.S. cities, including San Francisco, Chicago and Baltimore. FRC is currently focused on opportunistic and value-add investments in major U.S. cities.
Student Housing
FRC’s prior investments in student housing facilities on or near college campuses encompass over 2,400 beds and span 4 states. The firm focuses on value-add opportunities in the student housing space.
Land Development
The breadth of FRC’s experience includes identifying and acquiring promising land opportunities that can be purchased and entitled for sale directly to developers and builders. FRC has been involved in land developments in California, Florida and Colorado and is currently focused on urban infill opportunities.
